The Life Styles Inventory™ (LSI) is a self-assessment tool developed by Human Synergistics International. It is designed to measure and provide insights into an individual’s thinking patterns, behaviors, and effectiveness in different aspects of life. The LSI focuses on two primary areas:
- Thinking Styles: The LSI assesses 12 thinking styles that represent various ways in which individuals process information and interpret the world around them. These styles range from constructive and positive to defensive and limiting. Examples of thinking styles include Achievement, Self-Actualizing, Humanistic-Encouraging, Approval, Conventional, Competitive, and Avoidance.
- Personal Effectiveness: The LSI also evaluates an individual’s effectiveness in areas such as managing stress, dealing with conflict, taking initiative, and forming constructive relationships.
By completing the LSI questionnaire, individuals gain insights into their own thinking and behavioral patterns, as well as their impact on personal and professional effectiveness. The results can help individuals identify areas for growth, development, and improvement, enabling them to enhance their self-awareness and make positive changes in their lives. It is often used in coaching, leadership development, and organizational development programs.
